A customizable TV brand universe: infinite design possibilities
How did we talk 30 years ago? Which kind of eccentric, crazy, foolish jokes did we laugh at? Which were our most beloved TV programs? How much do you think we’ve changed so far? You’ll be surprised!
Aroused by this nostalgic yet curious premise, this is what the NTV (“No Tenim Vergonya”) TV show is about: getting back oldies belonging to Catalonia’s main autonomic channel, TV3, and assembling them to the newest ones as to make a hilarious compilation of the very best moments throughout multiple TV3’s programs, all aired between 1983 and 2018.
To ideate NTV’s new brand identity, we proposed a holistic and constructive idea: developing a fully customized editable system containing not only the unique designs we would create for the show but also the necessary tools to modify and blend them together.
From graphic identity to more technical aspects, we built up the various elements that constitute a TV channel: logotype, openings, bumpers, chyrons… All teamed up through the easy-going, cheerful and spontaneous mood we selected for NTV’s corporate personality, both in the retro-vintage style and also in the seamless, organic 2D animation.
Slightly inspired by Memphis Milano artistic movement, we proposed a colorful and minimal style based on geometrical shapes. Since the NTV team would need to be constantly adding new content to their design and modifying its information for each different show, the deliverables had to be absolutely modular, intertwined and gridded. To make it more efficient and productive for them, we provided the NTV team a broad library full of different patterns and textures so the NTV crew could freely combine all the brand elements we designed, having such multiple and unique edition possibilities.
